Mixed Bag Pack

mixed
12 mazes

A mixed-shape pack of dense mazes for experienced solvers.

Mazes in this Pack

What is in Mixed Bag Pack?

Twelve expert pages, four of each shape, unbraided throughout: rectangular grids up to 30 by 30, circular discs up to 56 sectors by 28 rings, and hex honeycombs up to 28 by 20. Answer routes run from 261 to 823 steps, and every wrong branch ends at a wall. The printed order rotates rectangular, circular, hex, so alternating pages gives a change of geometry; solving all four of one shape in a row makes the escalation within that shape obvious.

The puzzle download contains 12 pages, with one maze on each page. The current set includes 4 rectangular, 4 circular, 4 hexagonal mazes. Difficulty labels in this edition are 12 expert. Use these labels and the previews below when assigning pages; a pack name alone does not tell you how much pencil control or backtracking each solver will need.

A sequence for this set

Treat this collection as a choice board rather than assuming the printed order rises in difficulty. Let each solver choose a familiar shape first, then attempt a contrasting layout. Dense puzzles can be carried across sessions instead of being rushed into a short warmup.

Page 3 has the shortest measured answer route in this set: 261 steps. It is a useful page to inspect first, but a shorter solution is not a guarantee of an easier solve. Branches and path width also affect the experience. PDF pages follow the numbered cards below.

Print the puzzles and keep the answers separate

Choose A4 or Letter to match the paper loaded in the printer. Use actual size and one page per sheet for the first test copy. Check the outer walls and fine passages before running the rest. Keep the answer-key PDF at the same paper size: its pages follow the puzzle order, so answer page 3 corresponds to puzzle page 3. Give learners the unmarked puzzle file, not the answer file, and keep a master answer copy for checking work.

Pack questions

Must every learner finish the whole pack?

No. Select individual pages for a center, a quiet activity, or a home puzzle session. Keep unused pages for another day rather than making speed the goal.

Can I share copies with my class?

Personal and classroom printing is allowed. The site terms do not permit reselling the PDFs or bundling them into a paid worksheet product.
