Inside this maze
The first 22 steps carry you through the inner part of this circle before a junction appears in ring 7. Later, the answer repeatedly crosses back toward the center: 132 inward moves accompany 155 outward moves. Its 393 direction changes include switches between neighboring sectors as well as switches between rings. Even the longest uninterrupted run is only 7 moves, so staying on one ring for a long sweep is not the usual pattern.
On a completed answer copy, distinguish radial crossings from movement around a ring using two pencil colors. This makes the route's structure visible without treating every curved passage as a new turn. The sheet contains 1,152 cells, of which the answer visits 594, and finishes with four moves along the outer ring after its last junction. Keep the original attempt uncolored if you want to compare how often your exploratory route crossed rings versus the 593-step answer.
