Preview of the Triceratops Fern Forest printable PDF maze

Triceratops Fern Forest

Guide the triceratops through the fern forest. For ages 6-9 who have tried a square grid, the circular layout introduces travel around rings. Look for gaps between neighboring rings instead of assuming that a path closer to the center must be correct.

Stegosaurus Volcano Path

Find the winding path from the stegosaurus to the volcano. Offer this hexagonal layout to ages 7-9 as a change of direction, not a speed test. Pause at each six-sided cell and check the diagonal openings before choosing a passage.

Pterodactyl Sky Climb

Trace a route to the nest and egg in this rectangular maze. Ages 5-7 can work with an adult to name each turn as they go. Treat the flying character as a story prompt: the pencil still needs to stay inside the maze passages.

Brachiosaurus Waterfall Walk

Lead the long-necked explorer to the waterfall through a circular maze. Try it with ages 6-9 after a rectangular worksheet. Keep track of the current ring with a fingertip, then follow the next opening; a curved corridor can continue farther than it first appears.

Parasaurolophus Canyon Quest

Find the canyon arch at the end of this circular path. For ages 6-9, use the worksheet to compare clockwise travel with moving between rings. Check the endpoint markers first; neither circling the page nor heading inward guarantees arrival at the finish.

Preview of the Pachycephalosaurus Fossil Find printable PDF maze

Pachycephalosaurus Fossil Find

Guide the dome-headed explorer to the fossil footprint through hexagonal cells. Suggested for ages 7-9 who are comfortable checking more than two directions. Mark explored branches lightly so diagonal turns remain visible, and keep the full-size page for room to trace.

Iguanodon Garden Escape

Help the iguanodon find the leafy garden exit in this rectangular maze. For ages 5-8, make this an unhurried independent attempt after a shared worksheet. Compare the finished route with the walls, then color the surrounding leaves without covering the pencil path.

Choose a dinosaur worksheet by tracing comfort

The age ranges above are starting suggestions, not tested reading or difficulty levels. Begin with a rectangular grid if the learner is new to mazes. A circular page changes how the route turns, while a hexagonal page adds diagonal choices. Try one unfamiliar shape at a time instead of increasing size and changing shape together. These are illustrated frames around passage mazes, not dinosaur-shaped paths.

These downloadable worksheets are US Letter PDFs. Use Letter paper, one page per sheet, and 100% scale for the first copy. On A4 paper, choose fit to printable area and inspect the preview before printing: the sheet proportions differ. Avoid printing the browser page itself, which includes the surrounding catalog rather than only the worksheet.

Check that the frame and endpoint markers are visible and that the thinnest walls are dark enough to follow. A black-and-white test copy can save color ink, but make sure the route is still clear. Keep the puzzle full-size for learners using thicker pencils. These illustrated PDFs do not include a separate dinosaur answer-key download; work through a master copy before assigning a class set.
