Inside this maze

The 18-column, 12-row grid has 216 cells joined by right-angle passages. Follow the openings between squares, not the lines themselves. When a corridor bends back toward the start, keep tracing it: distance toward the finish is not a reliable test of whether a branch is useful.

The stored shortest solution takes 78 cell-to-cell steps. Across the whole grid there are 13 dead-end cells and 25 junctions with at least three open connections. These are measured layout features, not a predicted solving time; exploring a wrong branch adds distance beyond the answer-key route.

The generation setting used 34% braiding. Braiding attempts to open passages at dead ends and can create loops; it does not mean that 34% of cells are loops. A valid route may differ from the shortest route displayed in the answer key.

Who this puzzle suits

A first paper maze for an early-primary learner who can follow a line with a pencil.

Paper size and answer key

This puzzle's available PDF is US Letter. Print one maze per sheet at actual size on Letter paper. On A4, use fit to printable area and inspect the preview before printing a batch. Keep the worksheet large enough for comfortable pencil tracing.

The puzzle PDF leaves the route unmarked. Keep the solution SVG as a separate answer key, or compare your route with the on-screen solution after trying the puzzle. Check that each move passes through an opening and reaches the marked finish, rather than judging only whether the pencil line looks like the answer.
